The Joint Chapter of the Kansas City American Meteorological Society and National Weather Association will meet Thursday evening, April 24 at The Well Bar, Grill, and Rooftop in Waldo: http://www.waldowell.com/ Our guest speaker for the evening will be Les Boatright of Kansas City Power & Light, who will be speaking on how electromagnetic energy impacts the power grid. Meal will consist of a BBQ rib dinner, and includes taxes, tip, and soft drink for $20. Doors open at 6pm, dining from 6:30-7:30, followed by a short business meeting and then our guest speaker. The members of the Kansas City Chapter of the American Meteorological Society/National Weather Association have voted to donate $100 to the Science Pioneers, which will provide awards for Kansas City-area students in the 4th through 12th grade in the area of science, engineering, math, and invention projects at the 62nd Greater Kansas City Science and Engineering Fair March 13-16, 2013 at Union Station. Our very own Joe Lauria, President-elect of the chapter, will be presenting at the awards ceremony. The generosity of our members towards a great cause is always appreciated!
